The stem axis of the forged steel globe valve is perpendicular to the sealing surface of the valve seat, and the opening or closing stroke of the valve stem is relatively short. Once the disc of the forged steel globe valve is in the open state, the contact between the valve seat and the sealing surface of the disc is no longer in contact, and has a very reliable cut-off action, making the forged steel globe valve product suitable for use as a medium. Once the globe valve is in the open state, there is no more contact between the valve seat and the sealing surface of the disc, so the mechanical wear of the sealing surface of the forged steel globe valve is small. Since the seat and disc of most forged steel globe valves are relatively easy to repair or replace the sealing element, it is not necessary to disassemble the entire valve from the pipeline, which is very suitable for the occasion where the valve and pipeline are welded together. The flow direction of the medium changes when passing through this type of valve, so the flow resistance of the globe valve is higher than that of other valves. The most obvious advantage of the forged steel globe valve is that in the process of opening and closing, the friction between the valve disc and the sealing surface of the valve body is smaller than that of the gate valve, so it is wear-resistant. The opening height of the forged steel globe valve is generally only 1/4 of the diameter of the valve seat passage, so it is much smaller than the gate valve. Usually there is only one sealing surface on the valve body and the valve disc, so the manufacturing process is better and it is easy to maintain.
The selection principle of forged steel globe valve is as follows:
1. A globe valve should be selected on the pipeline or device of high temperature and high pressure medium. Such as thermal power plants, nuclear power plants, high temperature and high pressure pipelines of petrochemical systems.
2. On pipelines where the requirements for convection resistance are not strict. That is, where the pressure loss is not considered.
3. Small valves can choose needle valve, instrument valve, sampling valve, pressure gauge valve, etc.
4. There is flow adjustment or pressure adjustment, but the requirements for adjustment accuracy are not high, and the diameter of the pipeline is relatively small. For example, it should be selected on pipelines with a nominal diameter of ≤50mm.
5. Small fertilizers and large fertilizers in synthetic industrial production should choose high pressure angle globe valve or high pressure angle throttle valve with nominal pressure of PN160 and nominal pressure of 16MPa or PN320 and nominal pressure of 32MPa.
6. In the desiliconization workshop and the pipelines that are prone to coking in the production of alumina Bayer method, it is easy to choose a direct-flow globe valve or a direct-flow throttle valve with a separate valve body, a removable valve seat, and a cemented carbide sealing pair.
7. In the water supply and heating projects in urban construction, the nominal passage is smaller, and the stop, balance valve or plunger valve can be selected, such as the nominal passage less than 150mm.
The forged steel globe valve must be closed during maintenance to ensure that the grease fills the sealing groove along the sealing ring. If it is opened, the sealing grease will drop directly into the flow channel or valve cavity, causing waste. When the valve is greased, the effect of grease injection is often ignored. During the grease injection operation, the pressure, grease injection volume, and switch position are all normal. However, in order to ensure the grease injection effect of the valve, it is sometimes necessary to open or close the valve, check the lubrication effect, and confirm that the surface of the valve ball or gate plate is evenly lubricated.
