Valves play an important role in cutting off and controlling the medium in the pipes where they are-globe valves, as a kind of extremely important truncated class valves, which exert torque on the valve stem seal, valve stem in axial direction to put pressure on the disc, and make the valve sealing surface and the valve seat sealing surface fit closely to prevent the leakage of medium along the gaps between the sealing surface.

The sealing pair of the globe valve is composed of the sealing face of the valve disc and the valve seat. The stem drives the valve disc to move vertically along the center line of the valve seat. In the process of opening and closing the globe valve, the opening height is small, it is easy to adjust the flow, and it is convenient to manufacture and repair, and the pressure is applicable to a wide range.

Compared with another kind of commonly used cut-off valve in the industrial production  - gate valve, from the structure point of view, the globe valve is simpler and easier to manufacture and maintain than the former. From the working life view, the sealing surface of the globe valve is not easy to get worn and scratched, and there is no relative sliding between the valve disc and the seat sealing surface in the process of valve opening and closing, so the wear and scratch on the sealing surface is small, so the working life of the sealing pair is improved. The disc stroke of globe valve is small in the process of full closure, and its height is smaller than gate valve. The disadvantage of the globe valve is that the opening and closing moment is large and it is difficult to open and close the valves fast . And the flow channel in the valve body is tortuous and the fluid’s flow resistance is large, which accounts for the fluid power loses a lot in the pipelines.
